About Us
Stand in Peace has been in existence for over 20 years, and in June 2018 became an official nonprofit. Founded in San Francisco, California by Shervon Hunter, who saw a need for healing in her community of Potrero Hill and answered by creating programs and services centered around holistic and community centered healing practices.
Stand In Peace International helps people, places and spaces where historical, generational, community and individual trauma have taken place, by helping transform pain into power through the arts, health promotion, cultural connectedness, and building community. We specialize in working with disenfranchised communities, such as low-income, communities of color, and at risk populations.
